My first post in the many skincare posts to come & what do I choose to start it with? My all-time favorite moisturizer, the Neutrogena Hydro Boost. I change out my skincare products all the time. Simply because I love trying new products and shopping skincare is one place my money seems to just gravitate towards. But there are a few OG products that have been in my arsenal over the years & this moisturizer is most definitely one of them.
Growing up when I'd go grocery shopping with my mom I'd always convince her to buy me one skincare product from the drugstore every time. So that's about one new skincare product every two weeks. I started collecting skincare products before Influencers and YouTubers even became a thing. I remember Clean & Clear was one of the more inexpensive lines at the drugstore so it would be easy to convince my mom to buy me products from that line. But I'd always walk by the Neutrogena section and want to just try everything! Since Neutrogena was a little more expensive compared to other drugstore brands I didn't have a lot from them back when I was a teenager. Another reason I always wanted to try products by Neutrogena was that I'd always see "Dermatologist Recommended" slapped all over their products. This was very intriguing to me because I had never been to a Dermatologist then but I knew what they were, and the little me looked at them like the skincare Gods.
Now fast forward to my life now, I've tried numerous Neutrogena products and always thought they were one of the better brands when it came to drugstore skincare.
To this day I've tried so, so, so many moisturizers. From drugstore creams to products purchased at Sephora to even designer lotions and potions purchased at Bloomingdales. From Aveeno to Olay and Dior to Chanel. You get the deal. So why have I come back to Neutrogena Hydro Boost? Well, because it was literally recommended to me by my Dermatologist! I tried the Hydro Boost line from Neutrogena back when it first came out. When Hyaluronic Acid was just newly becoming all the rave in the skincare industry. I fell in love with every product from this line and even had family members purchase the Neutrogena Hydro Boost moisturizer. My sister and my mom still use it. But for some reason I had stopped using it, I guess because me being me I wanted to try new products and new brands.
Recently, in quarantine, I had a video visit with my dermatologist due to me having extremely dry skin. I never had dry skin growing up. My skin was actually the complete opposite of dry, it was oil central. So, when I started to get dry skin I was actually kind of confused about how to take care of my new Sahara Desert level of dry skin. And thus, I made an appointment with my trusted Dermatologist. I asked her if there's a moisturizer she recommends and that no matter what the price and how prestigious it might be, I'll buy it. To my shock, she recommended the Hydro Boost moisturizer from Neutrogena and she also mentioned that is what she uses. This brought me back to my childhood days. Back when I wanted to purchase Neutrogena products simply because they were "Dermatologist Recommended." They weren't kidding, eh? They actually are recommended by dermatologists. So since that call, I've ordered my self a big ol' jar of Neutrogena Hydro Boost and I've fallen back in love with this product. It's so great for anyone, really. They have an extra dry skin version if you obviously suffer from dry skin like me and they also have a regular moisturizer for normal skin. I would recommend this moisturizer to anyone in a heartbeat. And that's why I chose to write my first skincare blog about it! Neutrogena Hydro Boost, you'll forever be my holy grail cream.
I'm going to go slather my Neutrogena Hydro Boost now, until next time...
Love,
T Kay
